Saferight Academy exists to strengthen Western Australian screen production by preparing actors, crew and production teams for safer, more confident work around film armoury, tactical movement and high-pressure set environments. Safety and creativity are not opposites. The safest set is often the most creative set, because people can do brave work when they know they are respected, prepared and protected.
A practical culture for demanding work: calm, prepared, respectful and serious about the people on set.
Safety
The first promise, not the final checkbox.
Encouragement
A practical discipline that helps people grow.
Respect
Every role matters, from trainee to producer.
Readiness
Confidence built through preparation, not bravado.
Excellence
High standards without ego or intimidation.
Support
Leave every person and production stronger than we found it.
On any set involving firearms, imitation firearms, blank-fire, edged props, stunt movement or tactical action, the culture must be clear before the camera rolls. Everyone should know who is responsible, who has authority, what is being used, who may touch it, when the scene stops and what to do if something feels wrong.
Ask the question.
Stop the scene.
Protect the people.
Support the work.
We want WA actors to be ready for Hollywood-scale work. We want local productions to stage action safely and credibly. We want inbound productions to find a local ecosystem that feels prepared, disciplined and generous. Saferight Academy is designed to help those stories become easier to make, safer to stage and more attractive to larger productions.
Support needs to be visible in the way we brief, prepare, communicate and recover after demanding work.
Staff
Clear expectations, mentoring, respectful communication, preparation time and support after high-pressure days.
Clients
Practical advice, early risk flags, safe creative alternatives and calm production-facing guidance.
Storytellers
Training that builds confidence, protects the set and helps actors, directors and crew do better work.

Safety is our foundation. Encouragement is our tone. Excellence is our aim. Support is our way of working.
